- Production setup — every design needs pattern-making, cutting templates and machine setup. That labor is fixed whether you make 50 pieces or 5,000.
- Floor economics — sewing lines are organized for efficiency, and a tiny run ties up the same stations as a full one.
Small brands often worry that MOQs price them out of Chinese manufacturing — and with big factories, that worry is justified, since many want 1,000+ pieces per design.
